It’s been 50 years since we decided to venture into the textile world. In a small house in Apúlia our story started with 6 people and 4 machines. It seems like yesterday that we risked everything to make a dream come true - to turn IMPETUS into a world reference.

Today we feel we have a big family with over 1.000 employees, who contribute to this project every day with the common goal of creating premium garments that are like a “second skin”.

The Story
1973
6 People
A group with 12 companies, more than 1,000 employees and around 9,000,000 pieces produced every year, began in a small house in Esposende, in the north of Portugal. It was in December 1973.
1984
Invests in specialisation and launches a brand aimed at men's underwear. The IMPETUS brand is born. We continue to focus on exporting to countries such as Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and the United States.
1995
The group's commitment to responsiveness and growth led to the need for new facilities. From Apúlia to Barqueiros. Thus began a new chapter in our history.
2005
Our journey of expansion, which began in 1997 with the entry of the Impetus brand into El Corte Inglés in Spain, continued in 2005 in France, with the presence in Galeries Lafayette and Printemps.
2017
Innovation and the determination to offer quality products and unique comfort have always been part of the group's DNA. In 2017 we consolidated our capsules with the launch of the Soft Premium line and Bio Cotton. Focus on sustainable raw materials, based on organic fibres obtained through ecological processes.
2023
